MacDonald (Alastair Mackenzie) is 28 and about to open his
trendy new fish restaurant in London with his beautiful girlfriend,
Justine (Anna Wilson-Jones). He is an ambitious young man

Suddenly, one phone call threatens to change his life forever.
Archie unexpectedly finds himself the new owner of one of
the largest sporting estates in the Highlands - a feudal landlord
over 40,000 acres, 200 tenants, a house which makes Balmoral
look like a cottage, and an overdraft to match.
And to make matters worse, his aged eccentric
parents, Hector MacDonald (Richard Briers) and Molly MacDonald
(Susan Hampshire) come as part of the furniture and the local
schoolteacher, the feisty Katrina Finlay (Lorraine Pilkington)
is determined to make things for Archie as difficult as possible.
There is also the high spirited and fiery cook and housekeeper
Lexie (Dawn Steele) for Archie to come to grips with.....
